City Bicycle Co. Unboxing - Assembly - Review

City Bicycle Co. is known well around the UC Davis campus, and the Sacramento area for their premium quality fixed gear bikes, and their drive to serve the cycling community of northern California.

The co-founders originally started the company out of a drive to create a bike that was better than the competition at an affordable price. They do a great job of balancing both with great branding.

The City Bicycle Company was founded in 2012, making them one of the youngest successful fixed gear companies to-date, but that's not stopping them from having a huge vision and taking their business to the next level.

Their line-up of bicycles is par-none. They offer a unique combination of sealed bearing hubs with a track-inspired hi-ten steel frame to keep the price low with their Type One. City steps it up with their Type Two with an aluminum track frame and fork, adding speed, responsiveness, and a racing feel that makes you want to crush the streets. Both bikes are well priced, $299 - $499, and they make getting started with a fixed gear bike easy and fun.

City Bicycle Co. sent us a Brooklyn Type One to test ride. The bike came well packaged and easy to assemble. After about 30 minutes of assembly we were finished and took it for some riding. It is fast and fun. The 46 tooth crank gives it speed without loosing the ease of the quick start. This bike is truly a great model. For the price, it's unbeatable, and the amount of miles you can put on it without a huge amount of maintenance is great, mainly thanks to the sealed bearing hubs it comes stock with. Check out our assembly and review video, and pick 0ne up yourself!
